They are seeking, through prayer, to renew their journey in faith, make a commitment for greater dialogue and to deepen relationships.

“The churches are today in so much more dialogue with each other than when our Parish was launched 150 years ago. My hope is that the praise of God raised by all those gathered on January 25th and the preaching of Doctor Brown will carry us into even greater cooperation and collaboration in the future,” the Rev. Neville O’Donohue, pastor at SJCC, is quoted as saying in the news release.

The Church Unity Octave, a forerunner of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, was developed by Servant of God Father Paul Wattson, SA, at Graymoor in Garrison, New York, and was first observed in 1908. Today, from Jan. 18 through Jan. 25 Christians around the world gather mindful of Jesus’s prayer for His disciples that “all may be one so that the world may believe.”

A reception will follow in the Formation and Fellowship Center. Saint Joseph Catholic Community is located at 915 Liberty Road in Eldersburg. For more information visit www.saintjoseph.cc or call 443-920-9191.
