Coming Attractions: Music to fill mid-summer nights

There’s something about mid-summer that makes me appreciate really great music. As far back as I can remember, the songs of summer have been the soundtrack of my life. Since July is the perfect time to see live music, the Carroll Arts Center is offering two amazing acts this weekend.

A View from the Gallery

You only have a couple of weeks left to view the amazing creativity of our Carroll County artists! Through Aug. 3, we are featuring our 16th Annual Members Show, highlighting the talent of our members. Come see a wide variety of media and subjects in our three galleries and enjoy the creativity of our friends and neighbors. All the artwork is for sale, so come and support our local art community.

While you’re viewing the Members Show, be sure to browse through our gift shop. We feature creative gifts by local artists, ranging from jewelry to candles to cloth book covers. This is a great way to find something unique for someone special, and to support local artists and crafts people, as well.

Speaking of shopping, are you stuffed with too much stuff? Donate your artwork, supplies, art books and frames to our sixth Annual yART Sale. We start taking donations on Saturday, Aug. 11, so start looking around for what you can give away. That artwork that doesn’t work for you is perfect for someone else! Of course, save the date to shop yART Sale, Aug. 18 and 19. This is the first year it’s expanded to two days!
