At the Youth of the Year Gala at the Carroll Arts Center on May 12, the Boys & Girls Club of Westminster named Stephanie Raley as its 2016 Youth of the Year. Youth of the Year is the Boys & Girls Club of America's premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of club members. This program is nationally sponsored by Disney, Toyota, University of Phoenix and Taco Bell. The Youth of the Year representatives embodies the values of leadership and service, academic excellence and healthy lifestyles.
Stephanie Raley, Westminster High School, will attend Robert Morris University in the fall to pursue a degree in criminal justice, and has interned with the Westminster Sherriff's Department. She has been a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Westminster since 2009, where she has participated in many leadership programs, and spent countless hours this year working as a mentor with elementary age girls at the club. She was also the recipient of the 2016 Toyota Making Life Easier Scholarship, awarded nationally to outstanding Boys & Girls Club members. She will receive $3,750 per year for four years for college.
