The Gamber and Community Fire Company, in cooperation with the Oscar Brothers family, will offer the Oscar Brothers Memorial Scholarship Fund, a four-year college scholarship to a student who lives in the primary area serviced by the fire company. The scholarship is up to $5,000 the first year and up to $2,500 in the second through fourth years, with a $12,500 maximum payout per student over four years for tuition and books only.

To qualify, students must have their primary residence in the first-due geographic area serviced by the Gamber and Community Fire Company. Students from Westminster, Liberty, South Carroll, Century and Winters Mill high schools, as well as students from any other private school, or who are home-schooled, are eligible if their primary residence is within Gamber's first-due district. Applicants must provide the most recent total family income plus the number of children in the family. The application deadline is April 15.

A minimum course load of 12 credit hours is required. Students must maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better to remain eligible each semester for the entire four years. Students attending two-year programs are also eligible and also must maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better. Students must perform 40 hours of community service during each year of eligibility, preferably within the Gamber and Community Fire Company service area. Maintaining honors can earn recipients an extra $500 per semester when submitted with appropriate documentation.
