Those looking for a change of pace from or after the Celtic Canter on Saturday morning can hike up the hill to the McDaniel College Decker Auditorium to witness a student entrepreneurship contest.
The inaugural Business Plan Competition for High School Students will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 11, where nine students will present art-inspired business plans for a chance to win a top prize of $1,500.
Admission is free and audience members can vote for the People's Choice winning business plan, which will earn that student $250. Free refreshments will be served.
The competition is hosted by BlankCanvas2Art, a nonprofit, after-school program that aims to teach business skills to young creatives, ages 15 to 19, who work in the arts, be it painting, illustration, photography or other pursuits.
