The following students achieved the dean's list at Belmont University, Nashville, Tenn., for the fall 2016 semester: Caroline Cornell, of Woodbine; Hannah Jones, of Sykesville; Blake Ruby, of Westminster; Keith Tobin, of Woodbine; Amanda Tutalo, of Hampstead; and Catherine Welch, of Sykesville. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

More than 280 students graduated from York College of Pennsylvania on Dec. 21. Local students included Luke Hoover, of Finksburg, Bachelor of Arts in theatre; Kyle Farson, of Finksburg, Bachelor of Science in sport management; James Kennedy, of Manchester, Bachelor of Science in management; Heidi Wu, of Westminster, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Jessica Sadler, of Westminster, Master of Business Administration in Master of Business Administration; Travis Deckert, of New Windsor, Bachelor of Science degree in biology; Elizabeth Hume, of Eldersburg, Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management; Cortni O'Hara, of Sykesville, Bachelor of Science degree in behavioral science; Meghan McClyment, of Taneytown, Cum Laude, Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

Stevenson University student and baseball player Daniel White, of Mount Airy, spent time volunteering at Paul's Place with fellow team members. Paul's Place, a non-profit organization in Baltimore city, serves the members of the Washington Village neighborhood. The Stevenson baseball players served in the clothing bank portion of the organization, acting as personal shoppers to help women of the community find warm jackets and clothing for themselves and their families during the upcoming season.
