This 2-hour seminar will provide you with the techniques to speak with confidence in any situation. Eric L. Natural Cleaning Solutions: 2 p.m. For adults. Register for this event. Make your own earth friendly cleansers with items like vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda. You will come away with two spray bottles of cleaners, along with a recipe book of other natural cleaning alternatives. Dr. Virginia Brown, Extension Educator, will explain the advantages of green cleaning, how to properly store cleansers, and how to prevent poisoning from household items.

Concussion Prevention with Dr. Buckley: 7 p.m. For adults. Join Dr. Stephanie Buckley as she talks about the dangers of concussions and the importance concussion prevention. Be aware as you and your family play sports this summer about concussions and how to prevent them. Dr. Buckley is a Mount Airy physician with Carroll Health Group and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She earned her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed her residency at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.

US History Lecture Series: WWI to WWII: 1 p.m. For ages 12-adults. This is a part of a four-week lecture series that will focus on the history of the United States from the Revolution through 2000. It is intended as an overview of the major issues and events that have shaped American culture and politics today. This session will cover the Roaring 20s, the Depression, the New Deal, and Isolationism. Our guest lecturer Gary Kavanagh is a retired federal employee. He holds a Master of Modern History and Diplomacy from George Washington University. He also previously taught social studies in Prince George's County. A Celebrating America program.
