The Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society has awarded multiple college scholarships, with a combined value of approximately $50,000, through its F. Grove Miller Maryland State Fair Scholarship Program, named in recognition of Chairman Emeritus Miller who continues to serve on the non-profit's Board of Directors; the Marlin K. Hoff Scholarship Program, named in memory of former board member Hoff; the Miss Maryland Agriculture Scholarship Program; and the new College Day at the Races Scholarship Program.

The F. Grove Miller Maryland State Fair Scholarship Program annually recognizes the importance of education and participation in the Maryland State Fair. This year, the Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society awarded $2,000 Scholarships to nine Maryland youth who were active in the Maryland State Fair and enrolled in an accredited college/university or were high school seniors entering their college freshman year. Applicants completed an essay on the impact of their experience participating in the Maryland State Fair and how the scholarship will be beneficial in helping them with their career goals. The 2018 F. Grove Miller Maryland State Fair Scholarship winners included Mark Andrew Chaney, of Union Bridge, who attends Northern Oklahoma College; Matthew Thomas Chaney, of Union Bridge, who attends Hutchinson Community College in Kansas; Autumn Lippy, of Union Bridge, who attends Tarleton State University in Texas; and Brittany Lippy, of Manchester, who attends Oklahoma State University .
