At about 8:17 a.m. Tuesday, three vehicles were stopped on eastbound Md. 140 near Sullivan Road for a red traffic signal, according to a news release from Maryland State Police.

The bus, No. 170 which was heading to East Middle School, was driven by Sandra Stigler, according to the release. Stigler struck a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, which then struck a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, according to the release. The driver of the Pontiac was transported to Carroll Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.

The school bus is owned by Ramona Rawlings, a CCPS bus contractor, according to the release. There were 34 students on the bus.

Due to the crash, the bus was unable to continue to East Middle, so students were transferred to another bus and taken to school.
