Kristen Murphy, of Finksburg; Mckenzie Compton, of Mount Airy; and Laura Tressler, of Mount Airy, were accepted into Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society of nursing at Salisbury University. The international organization promotes nursing excellence and shares nursing knowledge for use in practice. Murphy, a 2014 graduate of Westminster High School, is a senior nursing major. She was named to the Capital Athletic Conference All-Academic, All-American, and Second teams. She is captain of SU's women's lacrosse team and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Phi Kappa Phi international honor society, and Phi Eta Sigma national freshman honor society. Compton, a 2014 graduate of South Carroll High School in Skyesville, is a senior nursing major. She is a member of the Delta Gamma sorority and the Phi Kappa Phi international honor society. Tressler is a senior second-degree nursing major. She is a 2006 graduate of Linganore High School in Frederick, and a 2010 graduate of Towson University in Towson.
