Mykhaylo Chumak, of Westminster, was named to the dean's list at Tufts University, Medford/Somerville, Massachusetts, for the fall 2018 semester. Dean's list honors require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Hannah Lindsay Stitely, of Westminster, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont.

Cecelia Cellini, of Westminster; Abbey Gillis, of Sykesville; and Elora O'Neill, of Woodbine, were among McDaniel College students chosen to participate in "Maryland Independent Higher Education Day" in Annapolis on Feb. 13. McDaniel students from Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett and Prince George's counties, as well as Baltimore city, visited their elected officials for the event, organized by the Maryland Independent College and University Association, that brings together more than 150 college students and administrators to celebrate funding of the Sellinger Program, the state grant program for eligible, nonprofit private colleges.

Brian Murphy, of Mount Airy; and Logan Sweeney, of Sykesville, were named to the fall 2018 dean's list at Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne. Dean's list students must complete 12 or more graded credits in a semester with a semester grade point average of at least 3.4.

Katherine Goodale, of Woodbine, has been named to the University of Iowa 's Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester. Undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, and the Tippie College of Business who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded course work during a given semester or summer session and who have no semester hours of incomplete or no grade reported during the same semester are recognized on the dean's list.

Ryan Throndset, of Woodbine, graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic's Florida campus, Port Orange, Florida, on Dec. 14, 2018.

The following students were named to the fall 2018 dean's list at Widener University, Chester, Pennsylvania: Sydney Jones, of Eldersburg; Rebecca MacLean, of Eldersburg; Madison Radnoff, of Mount Airy; and Winston Riley, of Westminster. The dean's list recognizes full-time students who earned a grade point average of 3.50 and above for the semester.

Jake Rubenstein, of Sykesville, a senior environmental studies major at Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester. He is a graduate of Boys' Latin School of Maryland. All students earning a position on the dean's list must have a grade-point average of 3.7 or above on a 4.0 GPA scale for the semester.

Alexander Kozlowski, of Westminster, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at Bellarmine University, Louisville, Kentucky. Kozlowski is a freshman economics major who previously attended Westminster High School. Bellarmine's dean's list recognizes students who receive a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The following local residents made the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at Rochester Institute of Technology: Kiser Holiday, of Woodbine, design and imaging technology program; Grace Reinartz, of Westminster, biomedical engineering program; Camryn Finkner, of Westminster, graphic design program; Joseph Buckley, of Eldersburg, electrical mechanical engineering technology program; Nathaniel Fritz, of Taneytown, mechanical engineering program; Clare Mahr, of Finksburg, graphic design program; Megan Werner, of Mount Airy, metals and jewelry design program; Noah Zecher-Freeman, of Mount Airy, chemical engineering program; Zachary Easley, of Eldersburg, web and mobile computing program; Wil Clancy, of Sykesville, software engineering program; Robert Gill, of Union Bridge, media arts and technology program; Timothy Cather, of Finksburg, mechanical engineering technology program; Richard Catron, of Hampstead, web and mobile computing program. Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for dean's list if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of Incomplete, D or F; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Jessica Becke, of Manchester; and Zechariah Schussler, of Westminster, were named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at St. Francis University, Loretto, Pennsylvania. To achieve this list, a minimum quality point average of 3.5 must be earned on 12 or more credits during a single semester, with no continuing or incomplete grades.

Jessica Markley, freshman, of Mount Airy; and Abigail Davis, senior, of Westminster, were named to the fall 2018 dean's list at Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. To be eligible, students in traditional programs must earn a GPA of at least 3.6 while passing 12 credit hours or more.

Gavin Rowley, of Hampstead, has been named to dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island. Rowley is a member of the class of 2020.

The following local students were named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at High Point University, in North Carolina: Maggie Gruber, of Hampstead; Allie Little, of Hampstead; Lindsay Leupen, of Sykesville; Rachel Rodean, of Sykesville; Emily Eiler, Westminster; Michael Ippolito, of Woodbine. Dean's list students must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher.
