Emily Weiss, of Manchester, was among the December 2018 graduates of Northern Illinois University , DeKalb, Illinois, with a Master of Science in education, orientation and mobility.

Tere'ssa Fleming, of Manchester, has been named to the fall 2018 dean's list at Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts. Fleming, who is majoring in creative writing BFA, is a member of the class of 2022. Dean's list students must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.


Kaelyn Storr, of Eldersburg; and William Scanlon, of Westminster, were named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester at DeSales University, Center Valley, Pennsylvania. To qualify, a student must have a minimum 3.25 GPA.

Cedarville University student Jason Magnuson, of Woodbine, whose major is computer engineering, was named to the Ohio school's dean's list for fall 2018. This recognition required Magnuson to maintain a 3.5 GPA for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

In order to achieve dean's list status, a full-time degree seeking undergraduate student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 3.6 Quality Point Average during the semester.

Sarah Elizabeth Buczkowski, of Westminster, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in nursing from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia, during commencement exercises Dec. 15. Buczkowski was among more than 820 students who received undergraduate, master's, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.

Maxwell Kirin, of Eldersburg; and Samuel Rothstein, of Sykesville, were named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 dean's list at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania. To earn this academic achievement, students must earn a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the term.

Jessica Lynn Borucki, of Westminster, has been named to the fall 2018 dean's list at Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Borucki is a member of the class of 2019. Dean's list students must be enrolled for at least 12 semester hours of graded courses and attain a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Caren Jane Butler, of Mount Airy, received a Bachelor of Science in radiologic sciences as a December 2018 graduate of Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas.

Christopher Yanchoris, of Sykesville, was named to the president's list for the fall 2018 semester at Siena College, Loudonville, New York. The president's list requires a 3.9 grade point average or higher.

Cameron McKelvin, of Westminster, has been recognized for achieving academic distinction at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The business administration major was named to the dean's list for the fall 2018 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must have completed no fewer than 12 graded credits for the semester and earned at least a 3.25 grade-point average with no grade lower than C and without any incompletes.
