Manchester Valley High School Advisory Council raising money for electronic sign

The Manchester Valley High School Advisory Council is working to buy an electronic sign.

The council is raising funds to purchase the sign for the school, which would be visible from Md. 30, according to a news release from Carroll County Public Schools.

School organizations, sports teams, and clubs would be able to use the sign to promote school activities and achievements to the community, according to the release. The sign will cost $35,000, according to the release.

According to the release, the advisory council is partnering with the Community Foundation of Carroll County in their fundraising efforts.

Anyone who wants to donate can visit www.SignforMVHS.com, which according to the release, will direct potential donors to a Community Foundation of Carroll County PayPal site.

Checks can also be made payable to The Community Foundation of Carroll County with a designation on the memo line or in a letter that the donation is for the MVHS Advisory Council Electronic Sign, according to the release. Donations may be sent to The Community Foundation of Carroll County, 255 Clifton Blvd., Suite 313, Westminster, Maryland 21157. All donations are tax deductible.

Proceeds from the Hampstead-Manchester Business and Community Expo also will be used to help cover the cost of the sign, according to the release.
