The Kids Feeding Kids summer lunch program is back this year with one small change — the program will partner with Carroll County Public Schools.

Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3184 Church St., Manchester, is hosting Kids Feeding Kids again, said Charles Marshall, the pastor at the church, via email.

The program begins Tuesday, July 17, and continues Tuesdays through Fridays every week until at least Aug. 10 and may be extended to Aug. 31, Marshall said.

Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by youth volunteers, who earn service learning hours for their work. Meals that are to be eaten on site will be prepared by CCPS Food Services at Manchester Elementary School, which is across the street from the church, and will be served in the church’s social hall, Marshall said.

Youth volunteers will prepare separate carryout meals at the church, he said.

Kids Feeding Kids is an organization started by Sharon Bonner, of Manchester, to make sure youths in need of meals over the summer have food available to them.
