After a January 8, 2014 fire gutted the Westminster Livestock Auction, Owners Earl and Victoria Gouker spent more than a year and faced numerous obstacles getting it back up and running. Since its February 17 reopening, the auction is once again buzzing with activity on Tuesday and Thursday nights when it holds its large livestock and small animal sales. Visitors to the Tuesday night livestock auction can find cattle, goats, lambs, pigs, alpacas, horses and more. On Thursdays, the auction holds three sales, one for miscellaneous goods, one for produce and a small animal auction where one can buy or sell pigeons, quail, peacocks, chickens, ducks, geese, eggs, rabbits, guinea pigs and almost anything else imaginable. In addition to livestock sales, the Goukers have expanded the auction to hold grocery sales, farm and estate auctions and flea markets.
