Library Schedule (June 26- July 2)

The Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Wednesday
The Magic of Roger Lindsay: 9:45 and 11 a.m. For ages 4-Adults. Registration for this event begins 6/12/2013. Summer Reading ambassador Roger Lindsay transports kids 4 to 104 to a realm of magical happenings, illusions, and laughter. Join Prop, the Magic Bunny, as he and Mr. Lindsay amaze and amuse in this show loaded with audience participation. You never know what surprises await you. All attendees need to register. This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council. 7 Steps to a Healthier Home: 7 p.m. For Adults. Registration for this event begins 6/12/2013. Learn how to create a healthier home. University of Maryland Extension Educator, Dr. Virginia Brown, will discuss how your home affects health and 7 ways to increase your well-being.
Knit Wits: 7 p.m. For ages 11-Adults. Beginners, please bring a light colored worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles to the class. If you know how to knit, please come and bring your project.

Thursday
Seussical Adventures: 10 a.m. For ages 4-Adults. Registration for this event begins 6/13/2013. Discover reading and the arts through an interactive theater performance using some of Dr. Seuss' most famous characters - Cat in the Hat, Horton, the Grinch, and more. This fun performance is presented by The Arts Coming Together In Carroll County (TACTICC). All attendees need to register.
Origami Fun: 2 p.m. For ages 11-17. Registration for this event begins 6/13/2013. Join origami expert Allison Campbell and get creative with this Japanese art form. With paper and imagination, learn to create intricate works of art. All materials will be provided.
KidWorks Presents - A Teddy Bear Picnic: 6:30 p.m. For All Ages. Join the KidWorks kids on a teddy bear picnic. We will have fun with teddy bear stories, songs, and activities. Don't forget to bring your teddy bears. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Mr. Jon's Summertime Kid's Concert: 10 a.m. For ages 2-Adults. Registration for this event begins 6/14/2013. Come on out to see Mr. Jon in concert. Minecraft Mania: 2 p.m. For ages 8-17. Registration for this event begins 6/14/2013. Can't get enough of Minecraft? Come explore the world of Minecraft with crafts, games, and snacks. Refreshments will be served.

Saturday
Work with a Master Gardener: 9 a.m. For ages 12-Adults. Registration for this event begins 6/15/2013. Work with a Master Gardener at the Eldersburg Branch Library's Native Garden. The Carroll County Master Gardeners will be available for your questions while maintaining our native garden. Service hours are available for students ages 12-17. Wear your work clothes and bring gardening gloves. All attendees need to register.
Movies @ Your Library - Rise of the Guardians: 2 p.m. For ages 7-Adults. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs, and imagination of children all over the world. Rated PG. Refreshments will be served.

Monday
Year-Round Family Story Time - Counting: 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. For All Ages. An open invitation. This weekly story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
Bilingual Story Time-in English and ¡Español!: 2 p.m. For ages 3-8. ¡Hola. Hello. Learning another language is fun and beneficial for growing brains. In this bilingual story time, presented in English and Spanish, children will listen to cuentos (stories), sing canciones (songs), play juegos (games), and pick up some Spanish along the way. Come join the fun. All children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
Pajama Stories: 6:30 p.m. For All Ages. There is nothing better than bedtime stories with cookies and milk. Wear your PJs to this cozy story time. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Refreshments will be served.

Tuesday
Bubble Show: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For All Ages. Registration for this event begins 6/18/2013. Margie Lynch, aka The Bubble Lady, presents an interactive bubble-filled show for children of all ages. Among the highlights of the show are - gigantic bubbles (up to 5 feet in diameter), long bubbles (up to 18 feet long), and smoke bubbles (made with dry ice and hot water.) All attendees need to register. This program is supported by Mount Garage Doors in partnership with CCPL.
