Peep Show breaks attendance records

An estimated 14,000 visitors attended the fifth annual Peep Show fundraiser at the Carroll Arts Center in Westminster, a new record.

The show closed Sunday. Visitors could vote for their favorite Peep sculptures, dioramas, mosaics and movies.

"Peepin' Through Carroll County," an entry by the Mondor family, won the grand prize with 1,473 votes. Christian Twamley's "I Also Speak for the Peeps" won first prize with 1,358 votes.

"Very Angry Birds" by Papa Joe's Restaurant in Westminster finished in second place with 1,334 votes. "Peep Panther" by Sydney Blacksten finished in third place with 1,083 votes.

"Peepafe" by Alannah Van Horn finished fourth with 1,067 votes and "I Speak for the Peeps" by Carroll Springs School in Westminster finished fifth with 993 votes.

The Peep Show received 196 entrants from volunteers. The entrants were required to use, or focus on, Peep marshmallow treats made by Just Born, of Bethlehem, Pa.
