Two heat-related deaths have occurred so far this summer during the week of June 17 to June 23, according to a news release from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The two deceased, one female in Harford County and one male in Baltimore County, were both over the age of 65 and had underlying health conditions.
In 2013, there were 17 confirmed heat-related deaths from May through September in Maryland, 46 in 2012, 34 in 2011 and 32 in 2010, according to the DHMH.
