Pa. woman charged with possessing heroin, paraphernalia

A Pennsylvania woman was arrested and charged with possessing heroin and paraphernalia, according to charging documents.

Kayla Michele Treichel, 24, of the unit block of East 3rd Avenue in Spring Grove, Pa., was charged with possessing a controlled dangerous substance that wasn't marijuana, possessing CDS paraphernalia and possessing CDS equipment, according to electronic court records.

Police received a phone call Monday from a Kohl's employee who said a woman was using drugs in a parked car in the store's lot in Westminster, charging documents state. An officer stopped the woman's car and found that a young child was seated in the back.

The officer asked Treichel if she was using drugs and then asked if police could search her vehicle. Treichel then told the officer that she would give the officer the heroin and paraphernalia, according to charging documents.

Treichel was released from the Carroll County Detention Center after posting a $5,000 bail Tuesday, electronic court records show.
