Clarence W. Caples, Jr., 83, of Glyndon

Clarence W. Caples, Jr. "Casey" of Glyndon, died Sunday, Dec. 16 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Born June 20, 1929 near Gamber, he was the son of the late Clarence W. Caples, Sr. and Ethel McQuay Caples. He was the husband of Leona May Reter Caples for 59 years.

He was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1946. He served honorably with the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 467, American Legion Post #116 as well as the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Company. He was a carpenter by trade and retired as a Building Inspector from the Baltimore County Department of Licenses and Permits.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son C. Wayne Caples and wife Cathy, daughter Debbie Owings and husband Dennis, grandchildren Kristy Toney, Kevin Owings and wife Stephanie, Kasey Watkins and husband Shawn, Bret and Jesse Caples, great grandchildren Justin, Jameson and Owen, brother Gordon M. Caples and wife Barbara.

He was predeceased by sisters Julia, Franklin, Mildred Bennett and Ruth Fisher.

Friends may call on Dec. 19 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where services will be held on Dec. 20 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Lou Piel officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Christopher Lee Klinefelter, 27, of Reisterstown

Christopher Lee Klinefelter, 27 years old of Reisterstown, died on Sunday, Dec. 16. Born Feb. 26, 1985 in Baltimore, he was the son of Dennis Lee Klinefelter and Kimberly Anne Bakaty Klinefelter.

He graduated from Franklin High School in 2003. He was a salesman for Ellicott City Motor Sports. He raced flat track motorcycles and loved electronics and computers.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sisters Courtney Elmo, Kelsey Klinefelter and a nephew Hayden Elmo.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Dec. 21 from 3-5 p.m. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, PA. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills.

Services and Interment Private.

Martin A. Schmitt, 82, formerly of Randallstown.

Martin A. "Smitty" Schmitt, age 82 of Westminster, formerly of Randallstown, died Saturday, December 15 at Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, MD.

He was born July 21, 1930 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late August J. Schmitt and the late Rose L. Schmitt (nee O'hara).

He was the husband of-Margaret C. Schmitt (nee Carter) of Westminster for 56 years.

He was a Retired Police Officer for Baltimore City Police Department for 16 years and was a retired Security Officer for Northwest Hospital in Randallstown for 16 years. He was a member of the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Midway.

Father of Carol Ann Moore and husband Thomas, Loretta Ann Rothschild and husband Gary, Peggy McGregor and husband Mike, Marty A. Schmitt II and wife Carolyn, Tim F. Schmitt and wife Melissa, and Tina Schmitt all of Westminster.

Brother of- Robert M. Schmitt of Floyd, VA

Also survived by nine grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield Dec. 19 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.; with a Vigil Wake Service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Liturgy will be held on Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, with Fr. Garcia officiating.

Private Interment.

Concetta Rose Shoemaker, 76, of Randallstown

Concetta Rose Shoemaker, 76, of Randallstown, died Saturday, Dec. 15 at Seasons Hospice in Randallstown.

Born Dec. 22, 1935, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Angelo and Rose Liberto. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Shoemaker.

Surviving are sons Frank A. Shoemaker, of Indiantown, Fla.; Vincent A. Shoemaker, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and Steven A. Shoemaker, of Reisterstown; grandchildren Heather, Sabrina, Christopher, Brandon and Michael; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by daughter Evelyn Rose Walsh.

Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown.

Interment will be held at Garrison Forest Veteran's Cemetery.

Leonard H. Tawney, 90, of Finksburg

Leonard H. Tawney age 90 of Finksburg died Dec. 12 at his home.

Born Jan. 2, 1922 in Reisterstown, he was the son of the late Benson H. and Virgie E. Kemp Tawney. He was the husband of the late Esta Beulah Tawney who died in 1996.

He was a 25-year retired well driller for G. Edgar Harr and Sons in Cockeysville, where he had worked for 35 years. He was a Navy Veteran and served aboard a Destroyer in WW II in the North Atlantic from 1942-1948. He also enjoyed fixing up antique machinery, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his son: David L. Tawney of Finksburg, sister: Ruth Cole of Manchester, and brother in law: Bill Cole of Upperco.

He is predeceased by siblings: Mary F. Merrick, Earl Tawney and a sister in law: Mildred Tawney.
