Women tour Mosaic Community Services facility

Nine members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, Woman's Club of Westminster, toured the Mosaic Community Services facility in Westminster Jan. 22 to prepare for a new Woman's Club Home Life Community Service Program in partnership with Mosaic.

Mosaic provides comprehensive services, including vocational services, to individuals with mental illness to assist them in a smooth transition to independence.

Stacy Seymore, director of vocational services for Mosaic, led the tour of the facility. She said that of the four Mosaic vocational program sites, the Westminster facility is its largest and that they average about a 50 percent rate of individuals employed. This is proportionally the highest of the facilities.

The Woman's Club Home Life co-chairmen, Mary Dudderar and Jean Picardi, told the group the club plans to assist Mosaic in three ways:

Collect gently worn clothing for Mosaic clients to wear for job interviews and to start work.

Participate in a Job Club to share work experiences and employers' attitudes to assist Mosaic clients in finding and keeping jobs.

Conduct mock interviews with job seekers to prepare them for that important part of the job-hunting process.

Clubwomen will be provided with instructional material and training before taking part in the program.
