Liberty to hold patriotic concert

On Friday, May 2 at 7 p.m., Liberty High School will be holding a "Salute to the Armed Forces" concert in the auditorium. This concert builds a spirit of patriotism and civic duty in our students by bringing them in direct contact with our local heroes who have fought and served valiantly for our country. We invite professional musicians to work with our students on quality selections that our audience will enjoy. These musicians work with our students free of charge in order to "pay it forward" to the next generation, and also to help us provide an excellent concert experience with a varied repertoire for our service people and audience members.

Most of the music programmed on the concert is patriotic, jazz, or "Americana" in style. The concert concludes with an Armed Forces medley that recognizes all veterans and service people in the audience as my students present them with a small American flag and "special patriotic gift.".
