Cornhole tourney

Grace United Methodist Church, 4618 Black Rock Road, Upperco, is sponsoring a cornhole tournament from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Cornhole is a backyard game in which players take turns throwing bags of dried corn at a raised platform that has a hole in the end. Points are scored for bags that land in the hole or on the platform.

This "Corn Hole for a Cause" will help raise money for Harvest of Joy, a special ministry of Grace United Methodist Church that strives to be a blessing to the Fifth District community of Baltimore County through support of local schools and families.

Teams of two can register for $20 and compete for the title of Corn Hole Champion. In addition to the games, there will be free activities for children and live music the whole family can enjoy. Food will be available for purchase.

Local businesses and community members have donated prizes that will be given out throughout the event, including a pair of 60th-anniversary custom-wrapped Orioles cornhole boards.

Grace United Methodist Church is part of the North Carroll Cooperative Parish, a United Methodist Community. For more information or to register, go to http://www.nccpumc.com/go or call 410-239-8088.
