Chair Shots: Finding challengers for WWE Night of Champions

WWE Night of Champions, the only night of the year where every WWE title is on the line, is less than two weeks away. Yet only three championship matches have been announced for the card.

We know WWE Champion CM Punk will defend against John Cena, World Champion Sheamus will face Alberto Del Rio and Divas Champion Layla is scheduled to take on Kaitlyn. But what about the Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team titles?

I've put together a list of three possible challengers for each belt in no particular order.

Intercontinental Championship -- The Miz vs. ???

Randy Orton

I'm assuming Orton will wrestle Dolph Ziggler at NOC, but this PPV-headling match two years ago would do wonders to boost the IC title's credibility. Maybe a Triple Threat with Ziggler involved?

Big Show

Where the heck has the WWE's resident giant been? He was last seen just being angry and KO-ing David Otunga on Raw two weeks ago. Does that make him a babyface now?

Zack Ryder

He's on a two-match winning streak. That's enough to make you a credible Intercontinental Championship contender these days, right? Woo, woo, woo, you know it!

United States Championship -- Antonio Cesaro vs. ???

Ryback

The Sin City Cyborg could use an actual feud to sink his teeth into. But Cesaro is being positioned for a long run, and I don't think they want to end Ryback's streak yet.

Brodus Clay

The Funkadactyls will be back in time for Night of Champions and like Ryback, he kind of needs a raison d'etre. WWE isn't afraid to job him.

Christian

One of the last times we saw Christian on TV, Cesaro assaulted him after Captain Charisma picked up a win. Could he return to gain a measure of revenge, and gold?

Tag Team Championship -- Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. ???

Prime Time Players

Yeah, OK, we've seen it already. But you've gotta think the PTPers are going to get the gold soon, right?

Kane and Daniel Bryan

This is the one I'm hoping for. The reluctant pair of former world champions could just let their anger carry them to a tag team title reign.

Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara

The two Mexican high-flyers make a dynamic duo. Can you imagine the high spots in an all-babyface match with Kofi and Truth?
