Speaker gives herding demo for dog club

The Carroll County 4-H Dog Club had guest speaker Andy Klein, from Come by Farms, come to give a demonstration on herding Feb. 18 at the Carroll County Agriculture Center. His family brought a border collie named Kit and a lamb named Snowflake to the meeting and let the club members interact with them.

During this meeting, the club also introduced new officers to lead the meetings: Anna Lowes, president; Shannon Floyd, vice president; Maddie Sandoval, secretary; and Annie Xenakis, treasurer.

The club has also been planning to go as a group to Hershey Park.

The 4-H'ers are getting ready to start dog training, which is said to be a good way for beginners to train their dogs. Following the training, dogs can compete in the 4-H dog show and the state fair.

Club meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Ag Center. The club is open to all. For more information, call Anna Lowes at 410-458-2381.
