OWINGS MILLS - Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Adrian Hamilton left practice early with an apparent lower back injury.
He appeared to be in considerable pain and was tended to on the field for several minutes before heading to the training room, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the early indication is that Hamilton's injury is not serious.
"It was all muscular," Harbaugh said. "He should be fine."
Hamilton is competing to be Terrell Suggs' backup at Rush linebacker. He was active for two games last season after spending most of the year on Baltimore's practice squad.
He's considered to be an intriguing prospect as a pass rusher. He went undrafted last year, but he had an NCAA-best 20.5 sacks as a senior at Prairie View A&M in 2011.
SIDELINED: Ravens tight end Ed Dickson didn't practice Thursday after leaving Wednesday's practice with an unspecified injury, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Thursday that Dickson's injury is just a groin strain.
Dickson has been one of the standouts through the early part of the offseason for the Ravens and looks to be re-establishing himself as a primary figure in Baltimore's passing game.
He had just 21 catches last season, but he had 54 catches for 528 yards and five touchdowns in 2011.
MAKING AN IMPRESSION: Ravens left tackle Bryant McKinnie praised fifth-round offensive lineman Ricky Wagner after Thursday's minicamp practice.
Wagner is competing for a roster spot as a reserve offensive lineman. He was a three-year starter at left tackle at Wisconsin, but he's a player the Ravens believe could provide depth at guard and right tackle as well.
He was used primarily at left tackle during this week's mandatory minicamp, though, and apparently impressed McKinnie with his play.
McKinnie was asked after practice Thursday if any of the young offensive linemen stuck out to him this week.
"Wags ... from Wisconsin," McKinnie said. "He looks like a solid left tackle."
QUICK HITS: Baltimore cornerback Corey Graham said the Ravens have the potential to be "an unbelievable defense' based on their depth along the defensive line, the new players they have at linebacker and the speed they have in the secondary. ... Second-year wide receiver Tommy Streeter returned to practice Thursday after leaving Wednesday's practice early with an unspecified injury.
