The Ravens plan to release safety Omar Brown, according to a league source.
Brown was competing for a reserve job at safety, but Baltimore has instead chosen to keep undrafted rookie Brynden Trawick, according to a source.
Brown, known by teammates as 'Baby Ed Reed' because of his playmaking ability, spent most of last season on the Ravens' practice squad. He was active for three games late in the year.
Trawick had 10 tackles during the preseason. But more so than anything else, he has proven to be an asset on special teams during the summer.
