Newly signed Baltimore Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested late Sunday night in his hometown of Decatur, Ala., according to a report from WHNT-TV.
According to the report, McClain was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after an incident at Pines Park. Police reportedly told McClain and others to leave the park after a large group had gathered there, but McClain allegedly refused to do so and cursed at the police officers before eventually being arrested.
The arrest is just the latest in a rash of off-the-field issues for McClain since he entered the NFL in 2010.
He was arrested on assault charges in November 2011 after allegedly pointing a gun at a man and firing it near his head. Earlier in 2011, McClain was shot at while driving in Decatur. Last season with the Oakland Raiders, he was suspended two games for conduct detrimental to the team after reportedly arguing with coach Dennis Allen. He was then benched for the final three games of the season. And then in January, McClain was arrested for providing a police officer with a false name after being pulled over for a window tint violation.
Those issues, combined with other factors, led to McClain being released by Oakland earlier this month, less than three years after the team selected him with the eighth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft.
He signed a one-year deal worth $700,000 with the Ravens just more than a week after the release, although Baltimore didn't commit any guaranteed money in the deal.
