Edward Joseph "Ed" Ferrara, 65, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Carroll Hospice Dove House after his battle with cancer.
Born on March 2, 1947, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Antonio Sr. and Rose Garibaldi Ferrara. He was the husband of Barbara Diane Loester Ferrara, his wife of 28 years.
He graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1966. He served in the U.S. Air Force from February 1967 to July 1969. He was a salesman at Home Depot from 1992 until the present and worked at the Westminster location since its opening. He attended Faith Family Church in Finksburg and enjoyed gardening, cooking and doing stone masonry work.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are brother Antonio Jr., of Ellicott City; sister-in-law Martha Ferrara, of Towson; and nephews Antonio Mario Ferrara, of Boyton Beach, Fla.; and John Edward Ferrara, of Ellicott City.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.
Funeral services will be held at at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Family Church, 4150 Sykesville Road (Md. 32), Finksburg, with the Rev. Paul D. Andrews officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery.
