Marguerite P. Brown, 74, of Westminster

Marguerite P. Magruder Brown, 74, of Westminster, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Jan. 10, 1940, in New Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Lavean and Marcella Butler Magruder.

She was a 1958 graduate of Robert Moton High School. She was a supervisor for Random House, retiring after 17 years of service.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzle books.

Surviving are daughter Cynthia A. Magruder, of Westminster; sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Michael Bowie, of Frederick; a brother, Simon P. Magruder, of Westminster; grandchildren William Morrison III, of Westminster, Tiffany Morrison, of Germantown, Nikita Morrison, of Baltimore, Tia Morrison, and Nicole Morrison, both of Westminster; and a great-grandchild, Janelle Garland, of Baltimore.

She was predeceased by a son, Craig A. Magruder; a sister, Ruth Magruder Jackson; and a great-grandson, Eric Garland.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service, 4 p.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, chapel entrance, 412 Washington Road, Westminster with the Rev. Daryl Foster officiating. Interment will be private.
