Icy roads expected for morning commute

An overnight storm may bring icy conditions to Friday morning's commute, according to the State Highway Administration.

Light snow is forecasted to change to sleet and freezing rain, which could potentially bring down trees and power lines, SHA wrote in a release.

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain warning from 3 a.m. to noon Friday. While accumulations are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch, untreated surfaces could be icy and slippery, according to the National Weather Service.

Melinda Peters, the administrator for SHA, said to plan extra time for Friday's commute.
