Zoo holds summer camps

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore opened registration March 1 for summer camp. Students entering grades 3-8 can participate in "A Day in the Life of a Zoo Keeper." They will learn how animals are cared for, what they eat and how exhibits are maintained.

Rising second grade students can participate in "Zoo Detectives Camp." They will be greeted each morning with a zoo mystery to solve that day.

The camp lasts one week and is held in separate sections. The grade 3-5 sections are July 7-11, July 14-18, July 28-Aug. 1 and Aug 4-8. The grade 6-8 section runs July 22-26.

The Zoo Detectives Camp is held from Aug. 11-15.

Camp runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. The camp costs $410 per child, $356 for zoo members. For more information, visit http://www.marylandzoo.org/edzoocation/summer-camp.
