William E. Heagy, 53, formerly of Westminster

William Edward "Billy" Heagy, 53, of Littlestown, Pa., died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at his home.

Born May 29, 1959, in Westminster, he was the son of the late Melvin Edward and Ella Jane Myers Heagy. He was the husband of Susan Parson Heagy, his wife of 18 years.

He attended Westminster High School. He was a carpenter by trade for more than 30 years. He was previously a member of Sons of the American Legion Westminster Post #31. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horse racing, watching the Ravens and enjoyed spending time with his dogs Jake and Abby.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son Kevin W. Heagy; daughter Rachel L. Heagy; stepsons Daniel Spicer and Ryan Spicer; siblings and spouses, Connie and Ralph Green; Cindy and Patrick Hauke; Vicky Taylor and Gina Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by infant daughter Amber and niece Megan Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Deacon Charles Barnhart Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
