Holidays: Purim begins, Saturday evening, March 15. This joyous holiday reminds the Jewish community of the ancient years in the existence of King Ahashverosh of Persia, beautiful Queen Esther, her Uncle Mordechai and wicked Haman who wanted to kill Jews because Uncle Mordechai refused to bow before him - (Haman) Jewish people only bow to God. In addition to reading the Megillah, there are many Sunday carnivals at synagogues/temples, children dress in costume representing the above and everyone enjoys eating tasty hamantashen. March 17 is St. Patrick's Day. Don't forget to wear green.

Reminder: Spring officially begins Thursday, March 20. Hopefully, the Polar Vortex forecasts, freezing weather, record accumulation of snow and ice will soon be history.

Memo: Shabbat candle lighting time, Friday evening, March 14, is 5:22 p.m.

Have and enjoy a terrific week everyone. Think spring with sunshine and warm weather!
