Ravens place Yanda, McClain on physically unable to perform list

The Ravens announced today that Pro Bowl right guard Marshal Yanda and starting inside linebacker Jameel McClain will both start training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Players can be activated off the PUP list at any point during training camp or the preseason.
Yanda is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and was sidelined for Baltimore's mandatory minicamp last month, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh said last month that he expected Yanda back by training camp "to some degree" and it doesn't appear that Yanda's stay on the PUP list will be an extended one.
McClain's situation is more unclear.
He's still yet to be cleared to resume football activities as he continues to work back from the spinal cord injury he suffered in December and it remains in doubt whether McClain will be able to play this season.
Baltimore also placed rookie defensive lineman Kapron Lewis-Moore on the non-football injury list and waived undrafted rookie wide receiver Omarius Hines.
Lewis-Moore is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered during the BCS National Championship in January.
