Tornado watch issued for Carroll

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for most of Maryland, including Carroll County, until 9 p.m. Friday.

A tornado warning has been issued for some parts of the state, including Mount Airy.

"Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado ... five miles northwest of Germantown ... moving northeast at 30 mph," according to a warning to the NWS website.
