Board of directors elected

Members of the Target Community & Educational Services Board of Directors elected Robin R. Somers, executive director of Fairhaven, to serve as its new board chair. Wallace L. Brown, manufacturing engineer for Cobham Mission Systems Division, was honored at the board's June 10 meeting with a plaque of appreciation for his six years of service on Target's Board of Directors and for his two years of service as board chair.

Joining Somers on Target's volunteer Board of Directors are Robyn C. Allers, special liaison for College Relations at McDaniel College; Christi N. Ciampaglione, teacher with Prince William County Schools; Ronald E. Drager Jr., associate with Silberstein Insurance Group; William G. Dugan, kiln foreman at Lehigh Cement Company; Teresa M. Hayes, infant/toddler specialist for the Southeast Region for Public Health Management Corporation; Karen L. Merkle, vice president of Continuing Education at Carroll Community College; Dr. Henry B. Reiff, professor with McDaniel College; Joyce A. Romans, vice president, and chief risk and compliance officer for Carroll Hospital Center; Christopher M. Ruppert, area executive of Carroll County with BB&T; Michael D. Schiffer, partner with Venable LLP; Dr. Jeanine Stewart, provost and dean of faculty at McDaniel College; Dr. Robert P. Wack, director of Pediatric Services for Frederick Memorial Hospital; Kendall C. Weishaar, certified public accountant with Hull Company Accountants; and Dr. Thomas J. Zirpoli, dean of Graduate & Professional Studies and Laurence J. Adams Chair at McDaniel College, and president and chief executive officer of Target.
