Starting Aug. 16, the Carroll Arts Center's walls will be covered with everything from oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors and printmaking, to photography and sculptures from some of Carroll's most creative residents.
The Carroll County Arts Council will host its 11th Annual Members Show, which has become a growing tradition in Carroll. The event features just how talented some of our own artists are, and gives them a place to display and sell some of their art. The art community in Carroll is very strong, as is shown through the multiple showcases, events in the different municipalities, and donation of time and effort they make to make some of our major streets more attractive.
If you haven't experienced the Members Show in past years, now is your chance to not only see some amazing art, but to also support one of Carroll's most creative communities.
The Members Show is free and open to the public, as is the Artists' Reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16. Most of the works are for sale. The exhibit and prize money is sponsored by Ruth Gray and Lloyd Helt.
The Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St. in Westminster, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. For more information, call 410-848-7272 or visit http://www.CarrollCountyArtsCouncil.org.
