Tuesday

Evening Story Time: 7 p.m. All ages. This story time introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Fun, Fabulous Fish: 2 p.m. All ages. One fish, two fish, red fish---you know the rest. Join us for fabulous fish fun with stories, songs, and more. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Refreshments will be served.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. Ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. Siblings welcome. With an accompanying caregiver.

Story Pals: 10 a.m. Ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Wednesday

Family Movie Night - Happy Feet Two: 6:30 p.m. All ages. Join for an evening of family fun. Sit back and relax with family and friends while watching a great new movie at the library. We'll even supply the popcorn. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Refreshments will be served.

Fitness and Fun: Activities for a Healthier Life: 7 p.m. Adults. Join Terry Serio, an educator with the University of Maryland Extension Office, for an interactive discussion on ways to keep yourself and your family active and healthy. She will explore types of physical activity, the importance of a varied set of activities, and how to become more active. Registration for this program began 7/5/2012.

Songs at 6:30 Concert Series: All ages. Join us for this free evening concert series featuring local and regional musicians. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy some terrific music. Sponsored by The City of Westminster, Downtown Westminster Main Street Program, and Coffey Music. Rain location: lower level of Longwell Parking Garage. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Bubble Show: 10 a.m. All ages. Join Margie Lynch, aka The Bubble Lady, as she makes bubbles appear in all shapes and sizes. You just never know what is going to happen next. Remember to bring your camera so you can take a picture of all of the interesting bubbles she creates. This event is made possible through a donation from the Tech Court Celebree Learning Center. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Registration for this program began 7/6/2012.

Explore the many facets of our dream lives from recall techniques to interpretation, guided by the principle that all dreams come in service of our health, creativity, and wholeness. Terry Whye, avid dream explorer and ceramic artist of the Whye Clay Works Pottery will present this dream exploration workshop. You are invited to bring a dream or two to work on. Registration for this program began 7/5/2012.

Pigs in the Library?: 11 a.m. All ages. Penelope the pig will be back to strut her stuff. Don't miss this great photo opportunity and meet Penelope the mini potbellied pig. We will have a brief story time and then time to visit, take photos, and ask questions about the care of potbellied pigs. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Registration for this program began 7/6/2012.

Monday

Catriona's Castle Presents Peter Pan - An Interactive Children's Theater Event: 11 a.m. Ages 2-12. Our Fairy Godmother will present a 45 minute program where your child can be a star. Everyone gets to participate in reenacting Peter Pan. This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council. Registration for this program began 7/9/2012.

Sidewalk Chalk Spectacular: 10 a.m. All ages. Add your own creative touch to the Finksburg Branch. Join us Mondays this summer to give our walkways some flair and fun. Program is weather permitting. Guidelines and chalk available at the Information Desk. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff Puppet Show: 7 p.m. Ages 3-Adults. Isn't it fun to take a trip? What happens when there are problems along the road? Traveling to Ocean City, we cross a toll bridge, but the Goats Gruff have to cross the Troll Bridge to reach the beach. Will they be able make it? Come see the hilarious library puppet show and find out. Early Literacy Event: Help your child strengthen their narrative skills by re-telling the story using stick puppet characters (handout provided). Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Registration for this program began 7/9/2012.
