Manchester man charged with sex offenses

An 18-year-old Manchester man is facing sex offense charges after police caught him having sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl in his vehicle in a parking lot last month, according to court documents.

Nicholas Patrick Sibiga, of the 3600 block of Millers Station Road, is charged with second- and third-degree sex offense and possession of child pornography.

He was charged Monday following an investigation and released from the Carroll County Detention Center on $10,000 bail.

According to charging documents, in which police provide their account to support the charges, Sibiga admitted to the acts to police after an officer approached the vehicle.

According to the documents, Sibiga is charged with the child pornography possession because he allegedly told police he exchanged nude photographs with the girl on Snapchat, a cellphone application in which photos can be sent for a predetermined amount of time before being permanently deleted.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled Dec. 18, according to electronic court files.
