'Thank God for Jokes'
The word: Comedian, writer and director Mike Birbiglia is best known for his understated comic persona and frequent contributions to "This American Life." Birbiglia's comedy is often built out of personal experience. His one-man show and semi-biographical film "Sleepwalk With Me" details his troubles with sleepwalking on the comedy circuit. His stand-up captures his sense of humor as well as his pathos.

The word: Jamaican musician Ziggy Marley carries on in his father's tradition with his popularization of reggae music in the U.S. Marley brings his best to his live shows -- his latest concert album, "Ziggy Marley in Concert" won a Grammy award for Best Reggae Album in 2013.

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'
The word: After being frozen in WWII and teaming up with his super buddies in "The Avengers," Captain America is back in the modern era to face down government corruption, Russian soldiers and a figure from his past. Reviews are saying this is the best solo-Marvel film since the original "Iron Man," and the film brings a political maturity without sacrificing the fun of the franchise.

'In Performance at the White House: Women of Soul'
The word: Since 1978, this show has featured America's biggest talents performing in front of the president and the rest of the country. This week will be the first time in the program's history it will feature a concert of all women performers. The show will include performances from legends Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Janelle Monae and more.
