William Glenn "Bill" Haines II, 61, of Statesville, N.C., formerly of Westminster, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C.
Born June 17, 1952, in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of the late W. Glenn Haines and Doris B. Haines. He was the husband of Brenda Lee Wolfe Haines, his wife of 39 years.
He was a 1970 graduate of Westminster High School and had served in the Army National Guard. He was a lifelong over-the-road truck driver and worked as a NASCAR transport driver for 15 years.
Surviving are children Jamie L. Haines, of Hanover, Pa., and Matthew G. Haines and wife Pamela L. Haines, of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren Nicholas A. Haines and Megan E. Barnes, both of Hanover, and Carlee J. Haines, of Mooresville; sister Brenda Haines Hay and husband Glenn Hay, of Davidson, N.C.; father- and mother-in-law James and Shirley Wolfe, of Union Bridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held Sunday in North Carolina, with Chaplain Jerry Keegan officiating.
