The Historical Society of Carroll County (HSCC) has hired Fred K. Teeter, Jr. as executive director, effective June 10, 2013. Teeter replaces Timatha S. Pierce who retired May 31, after serving as chief executive officer for seven years.
Teeter served previously as CEO of Carroll Child Care Centers, Inc., an historic non-profit child day care program based in Westminster, MD. He is former president/CEO of the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce in Hagerstown; executive director of Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Delaware, Inc. in Newcastle, Del.; assistant executive director of ABC of Georgia in Atlanta, Ga.; and assistant director of communications for ABC, Inc. in Washington, D.C. As a local volunteer, Teeter is former vice chairman and marketing chairman of the Community Foundation of Carroll County. He is also inaugural recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Executive of the Year award in Maryland, a past director of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Maryland Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (MACCE), and vice chairman of the Maryland Society of Association Executives (MSAE). He and his wife, Janice, reside in a fully-restored, 200-year old Federal period house on three acres in the center of Uniontown, Md.
