Gladys Davis Hambright, 90, of Stevensville, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, of natural causes.

Born April 28, 1921, in Morgan, Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Naomi and Clifford Davis. She was the wife of David R. Hambright, who she married in 1943.

She and her husband had lived in Magothy Manor of Arnold. She was always involved in PTA, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Little League Baseball, and especially enjoyed coaching the youth and physically challenged bowling leagues at Severna Park Bowling Lanes for many years.

In her spare time she was an accomplished bowler herself and held Severna Park Bowling Lanes house records during her time there. Other hobbies included knitting and crocheting, sewing, gardening, bird watching and long vacations at Cape Hatteras beaches.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Rob and Ruth Hambright; a daughter, Pat Hambright; and grandchildren Kimberly, Mary and David.

She was predeceased by a son, David R. Hambright Jr.; a brother; and two sisters.

She donated her remains to research in the prevention and cure of Alzheimer's disease, from which she had suffered.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 3, at the home of Rob Hambright in Stevensville.
