FOR THE BIRDS: Reynolds sits, Sunday lineup

Absent from Buck Showalter's Orioles lineup Sunday? Mark Reynolds.

Showalter said there were a few reasons, including the same one Endy Chavez, Nick Johnson and Wilson Betemit were all starting Sunday and Ronny Paulino did a day earlier: the manager wants to get everyone involved early.

But Reynolds also smoked a foul ball off his left calf Saturday, and Showalter decided to give him a rest.

Reynolds, as expected, didn't seem too thrilled about sitting. Here are his brief remarks.

Out of the lineup after fouling ball off instep last night:

"I don't know. He just told me I wasn't playing."

Is it bothering you?

"No, I'm fine. There's nothing wrong."

Expect to be back in the lineup tomorrow?

"You've got to ask Buck. I don't know."

Well enough to pinch hit?

"I'm well enough to play."

Here's today's lineups for both teams as the Orioles look for a sweep:
