The Grand Prix of Baltimore is hoping to get 800 volunteers to assist with planning and production for the Labor Day weekend race.
The second Grand Prix of Baltimore, an Indy Racing League event, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 2. American Le Mans series and Indy Lights races, qualifying and practices are also scheduled for the weekend. On-track action begins Aug. 31.
Volunteers are needed to staff event ceremonies, distribute credentials, serve as ushers and assist in several other track areas, according to a press release from event organizer Andretti Sports Marketing.
Volunteers will be asked to commit to three 6.5-hour shifts during race week, with at least one race day shift Sept. 2. A $10 application fee is required, which makes the volunteer eligible for a race credential for event admission, paddock area access and free parking.
