Letter: Change needed in District 1

The thought of another four years of Commissioner Robin Frazier singing her State of the County Address to "Stormy Weather," denying public education funding while pumping more money ($400,000) into a home school slush fund and dragging Carroll County through federal courts to support her supposed right to say "Jesus Christ" in opening prayers for public meetings makes me embarrassed to be a Carroll County resident. That is why I am giving my vote to someone who I know will make common sense decisions based on the conservative values we treasure in Carroll County.

Steve Wantz is that candidate. He has the experience through his work in emergency services, including his current role as president of the Pleasant Valley Fire Fighters Association, and as a private business owner to make the fiscal and administrative decisions that will benefit the residents of this county.

He understands the concerns and values of the residents in District 1, while also looking toward the future of Carroll County development. Carroll County residents deserve a commissioner who will work toward achieving greater economic development and a continuation of educational excellence while preserving our traditional values and community.

I do not believe Wantz will waste the time of residents in this county with sectarian prayers and federal lawsuits, as our current commissioners have done. Instead, I believe he will spend his time working with other commissioners to bring true economic development and progress to Carroll County while maintaining the traditional life that we have come to know and love.

The smart vote is to vote for Wantz for commissioner of District 1.
