Israel Bonds holds annual Fashion Show

Women's Division of Israel Bonds' annual spectacular Fashion Show/Luncheon was again a successful fundraising social event, garnering a phenomenal $3 million in the purchase of Israel Bonds, investments in the state of Israel, supporting the development of the country. The very deserving honoree was this evening was Harriet Berg. The venue was Beth Tfiloh Synagogue, located on Old Court Road.

Sharing this extra special day and tribute was Harriet's very proud husband, Jimmy Berg, and her equally-proud parents, Roslyn and Len Stoler, as well as many additional family members and friends.

The theme for this year's event was "Israel: Now, Then, Always!" celebrating the 65th anniversary of the State of Israel. Remember, after the horrific holocaust, the surviving Jewish people had nowhere to go. For the past 65 years, there has thankfully been the Jewish State of Israel.

Program participants included Wendy Miller, chair of the Women's Division. Approximately 70 Beth Tfiloh Lower School students beautifully sang the national anthems. Also present were Laurie Luskin, Jennifer Brown and Captain Hadar representing the Israel Defense Air Force, as well as Rabbi Dana Saroken with Beth El Congregation. The event concluded with interesting comments from honoree Harriet Berg and Clara Klein, deputy chair of the Women's Division.

"May we see the day when war and bloodshed cease. When a great peace will embrace the whole world, then nation will not threaten nation, and humankind will not know war. We pray for love and justice to flow like a mighty river. And, for peace to fill the earth as water fills the sea. Amen."
