Historical Society offers scholarships

The Historical Society of Carroll County is offering the following two scholarships:

Eaton Scholarship:

The William Granville "Mike" Eaton Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from Westminster High School who are accepted into or already attending college or post-secondary school. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the memory of William Granville "Mike" Eaton, English teacher at Westminster High School from 1935 to 1971, with a student scholarship and through recognition of outstanding teachers. Applications and selection criteria are available at the offices of the Historical Society or through the guidance office at Westminster High School.

Graybeal Scholarship:

The Jay A. Graybeal is awarded to two students planning to or currently attending college to pursue a course of study in history, archaeology, museum studies, historic preservation or related fields. This scholarship was established by the members and friends of the Historical Society to honor the long-term contributions and the eminent example set by Jay A. Graybeal during his nearly decade and a half tenure at the Historical Society. Graybeals knowledge of and adherence to the highest standards for educational programs, collections and museum practices set an eminent standard for historic preservation and appreciation.
