McDaniel presents slapstick Jack and the Beanstalk

McDaniel College Theater will present an original British pantomime performance of the fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" Dec. 19 through Dec. 21.

British pantomime is a form of theater that takes familiar fairy tales and children's stories and adds a music-hall tone for a raucous, slapstick performance. The play tells the story of Jack, who is tricked into selling his beloved cow, Daisy, for a few magic beans, which grow into a beanstalk. Jack then climbs the beanstalk and meets an evil giant.
